Before coming to college, I had never really heard about Jesus. When I came to USF in Fall of 2022, I met a campus minister who gave me a survey about my eternal fate. The survey piqued my interest and I decided to start doing Bible studies to learn more. As I went through the Bible studies, I was letting the information go in one ear and out the other; I wasn’t applying anything the Bible was saying to my life. However, out of pride, I would communicate the opposite to others and tried to pretend that everything was going well.

In April of 2023, God showed me Proverbs 6:16 and 19 which says the Lord sees a false witness as an abomination. This convicted me of the hypocritical lifestyle I was living. An opportunity to be truthful came when a campus minister asked me if I had ever genuinely given my life to Jesus. I knew that I hadn’t, and I gave my life to Jesus right then and there. All my life I only knew what rejection was and had never felt the love that is in forgiveness. As I began to be real with God and others in my life I saw the acceptance and forgiveness that I now had in Christ.

Ever since then the Lord has taught me so much that I never knew about Him and has helped me to understand my identity in Christ. I have been able to share my personal testimonies with men struggling with anxiety and depression and the Lord has used that to bring those men out of those chains. I am eternally grateful for everything Jesus has done in my life thus far and I’m so excited to continue to walk with Him and experience the good works He has prepared for me.
