Jeff and Ali

Jeff, Ali, and baby Caleb

Ali and I were both exposed to church growing up but neither of us really received the gospel message until we came to college. Ali’s roommate was doing a Bible study with a minister from Cornerstone. Around the same time, I met a minister on their staff as I was walking across campus. In weekly Bible studies and at church, they shared with us that Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected so that we could have a relationship with Him. His kindness led us to repentance and each of us surrendered our lives to Jesus as freshmen in 2006. Afterwards, we began to reach out to our classmates, friends and other students we met on campus and share the same life-changing gospel that had affected us so greatly.

Around the time that I was finishing up my undergraduate degree and was praying about who my future wife would be, Ali began to catch my eye amongst our group of friends. God is so faithful – a few years later we were married! I am one blessed man.

We felt like God wanted us to remain in Tampa and continue to reach out as lights in the workforce after we graduated. We both found ourselves working at Moffitt Cancer Center a few years into our careers. It has been awesome! I’ve had several opportunities to pray for and encourage cancer patients and their families as a clinical research coordinator. God’s wisdom through Ali as an industrial engineer gave her opportunities to improve the patient experience by implementing processes that reduced wait times and increased satisfaction. We love the opportunity to bring the life of Christ into this place that has so much need.

We have also recently celebrated the birth of our son, Caleb. God has already taught us so much about His love for us through being parents. Both the Christian student that reached out to Ali and the campus minister that led me to Jesus have become some of our lifelong friends that we see ourselves building the Kingdom of God with for years to come. We are so thankful for how God has moved in our lives through this ministry!
